Burntwood care home Remembrance DayThe Residents at Chaseview care home, enjoyed watching and helping put up Remembrance decorations up at the home.

Residents and Colleagues also made their own poppy wreaths to hang on the walls, which the Residents were very proud of.

On the day, everyone watched the visit to the cenotaph on BBC One and were pleased to see the Queen on there; many Residents commented on how lovely she looked.

“We all then did our two minutes silence together to remember the fallen. We waved our flags and wore our poppies with pride,” explained one of the care Colleagues. See pictured, Resident Sylvia Ward enjoying the day thoroughly.

The day then finished with everyone singing some of the war classics and some then shared their stories from the war times. They all enjoyed hearing some amazing tales from different Residents who were affected by the war.

Home Manager, Jennifer Khadoo, remarked, “It was so nice and bright with the decorations. I enjoyed seeing the Residents having fun.”
