Consett care home participates in local community craft projectResidents at HC-One’s Greenways Court care home in Consett are taking part in a local rock painting scheme started on social media.

A Facebook group was set up by members of the local community to encourage people to paint rocks and place them in various locations throughout the Consett area, when people see a painted rock they take a photograph and share with the other members of the online group.

After seeing how much joy people are getting from finding the rocks, the team asked Residents at Greenways Court if they would like to decorate their own rocks to be displayed in Consett for other people to find. Everyone thought it was a lovely idea, with Residents who don’t often participate in arts and crafts asking if they could decorate a rock.

The finished rocks were placed throughout the local community by the team and have already started being spotted by other people, including the Relative of one of the Residents at Greenways Court.

Greenways Court Home Manager, Kinga Kowaliczek said: “What a wonderful, community-spirited idea! It has brought smiles and happiness to the lives of so many people in our area which is so special and heart-warming after a difficult year for most.”

Located on Delves Lane, Greenways Court care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.
