Delicious treats for Durham care home ResidentsChristmas came early for Residents at HC-One’s Melbury Court care home in Durham who were delighted to receive sixty goody bags filled delicious treats from local charity, Learning for Life.

Learning for Life is a charity based in Consett, County Durham which provides a range of services for adults with complex needs and disabilities. The generous donation is part of the charity’s ‘Tea Bag Project’, which aims to spread cheer during what has been a difficult year for most.

The Residents at Melbury Court were enjoyed opening their packs which included hot chocolate, coffee, tea, croissants, condiments, cheese, chocolates and biscuits. Most Residents agreed that their favourite item from the goody bags was enjoying a warm cup of hot chocolate on a chilly winter evening.

Melbury Court Home Manager, Hazel Southern said: “What a lovely donation from one of our local charities! Kind gestures like these really lift the spirits of our Residents and team.”
