Durham care home Residents create beautiful Remembrance displayResidents at HC-One’s Melbury Court care home in Durham have created a beautiful display to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Wellbeing coordinator at Melbury Court, Jacky Kitchen, organised a crafting afternoon where Residents could get involved in making poppies for a Remembrance display.

Melbury Court Residents wanted to commemorate Remembrance Day and to give respect to those that lost their lives during the war. Remembrance Day is a Memorial Day observed in the United Kingdom and has been observed since the end of the First World War to remember armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

Residents had great fun in creating the display, which turned what would be a quite sober experience into a fun one, whilst paying the respect to those who died.

Melbury Court Home Manager said: “We are all humbled by what the display represents and that the Residents wanted to commemorate it in such a way.”
