Hamilton care home receive donations from local supermarketResident and Colleagues at HC-One’s Douglas View care home in Hamilton received a kind donation from a local supermarket, who helped them through lockdown earlier in the year.

Staff from Douglas Views local Morrison's supermarket showed some fantastic community spirit when they stopped by to drop off some goodies. Morrison's community champions Shell Foley and Kimberley Cairns generously donated a hamper filled with cakes, biscuits, sweeties and other delicious treats for Douglas View Resident's three o’clock tea.

Some Residents got stuck in straight away, choosing their favourites biscuits and cakes before other Residents could get their hands to them!

"That was a lovely thing to do,” said Resident, Sarah Keltie, when told that the local shop had donated cakes for her tea.

Residents enjoyed getting some extra cakes with their afternoon cuppa and couldn’t thank Shell and Kimberley enough. Colleagues also enjoyed a little treat after Residents told them they deserve it after all the hard work they have done over the past few months.

Douglas View Home Manager Lyndsey Barnes said: “Moments when the community comes together to offer something to the vulnerable are the most important during these uncertain times."
