Residents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Winters Park care home were delighted as they held their harvest festival celebrations within the home.
Everyone prepared for the celebrations by creating seasonal glass lanterns, painting autumn leaves and creating clay harvest items.
Residents enjoyed themselves as they baked bread and created a beautiful wheat sheaf to decorate the home with. Relatives and Colleagues also donated food for the local food bank, which was gratefully received.
A church service was held within the home, complete with harvest songs and hymns, which was followed by everyone enjoying tea and home made biscuits together.
Residents finished the afternoon with a delicious autumn stew and dumplings lunch followed by a harvest quiz.
Kate Lewis, Home Manager, commented: “Today has been wonderful and enjoyed by all, we are so glad to have donated food items to the local food banks.”
