Ilkeston care home embrace world letter writing dayResidents at HC One’s Ladywood care home have taken to pen and paper today to write letters to loved ones on world letter writing day.

The Ilkeston care home Colleagues and Residents have taken this opportunity to remember and embrace the handwritten word.

Two Residents, Christine and Ann, both chose to write to their families and tell them about what they have been up to.

World letter writing day was established by Richard Simpkin, as a tribute to the joy and excitement he felt when a hand written letter would arrive in his post box.

Hopefully both Ann and Christine's families will be happy to greet the postman, in the next few days.

Ann commented “I like to keep in touch with my sister in law Jill, by letter.”
