Manchester care home make their very own Loch Ness Monster for Burns NightBurns Night celebrations are well underway at HC-One’s Averill House care home in Newton Heath.

Residents crafted their very own Nessie out of papier mâché and paint in preparation for a big afternoon of all things Scottish.

Nessie now takes pride of place in the care home, amongst plenty of Burns Night and Scottish-themed decorations.

Marjory Burke, a Resident of the home, commented: “Wow, it looks so good with the room all decorated and the Loch Ness Monster is great.”

Residents enjoyed plenty of Irn Bru and even a glass or two of Scotch whisky as a nice treat to wash down their haggis and homemade Scottish shortbread.

Everyone enjoyed their afternoon watching televised bagpipe bands, reading Scottish poetry and laughing at Colleagues attempt to Scottish country dancing.
