Newcastle upon Tyne care home Residents sent postcards to familyResidents at HC-One’s Orchard Mews care home in Newcastle have written to their families, who can’t visit due to lockdown restrictions, to let them know they are thinking of them.

Colleagues at Orchard Mews bought some wonderful cards so that Residents could write in them and send messages to their loved ones. Resident Jean sent a letter to her children, to let them know she was okay and that she was missing them dearly. Orchard Mews Resident Peter also sent out a card, but to his sister, with the same message.

Orchard Mews Resident, Jean Denholm said: “I hope everyone is staying safe and well out there.”

It is important for Residents to keep in touch with their loved ones during these unprecedented times especially and they all really enjoyed the afternoon spent writing in their cards.

"It's a nice opportunity to reach out and stay in contact during the pandemic," said Orchard Mews wellbeing coordinator, David Bell.
