Nottingham care home has first garden visits since lockdownResidents at HC One’s Silverwood care home have finally been able to see their loved ones at a distance after months of isolation.

During lockdown, contact between Residents and Relatives has been sorely missed. Thankfully the Nottingham care home has kept everyone in touch as much as possible using technology throughout the past 4 months.

Whatsapp video calls have provided a lot of comfort to Residents throughout this period of time, however the time has finally now come for garden visits.

The home has to keep a rota as of course this is very popular, and social distancing is maintained at all times to keep everybody safe.
The Relatives have thoroughly enjoyed having time with their loved ones again. During a garden visit, one Resident commented “It’s just so nice to see them again.”

The home has been taking full advantage of the recent sunny weather to fit in as many visits as possible. Silverwood are also very fortunate to have a cluster of garden spaces providing lovely views – creating the perfect backdrop for reunions with loved ones.

During one visit, Resident John Fowler, had a visit from his daughters, along with Toby their gorgeous spaniel dog on Father’s Day, which was fantastic to witness.

It is so lovely for the home to welcome Relatives back into the garden and get a sense of normality back.
