Oldham care home enjoys a sunny BBQ dayResidents and staff at HC One’s Avalon Park care home enjoyed a sunny day in the garden today, complete with delicious BBQ.

With the weather being glorious for the past week, it was the perfect opportunity for the Colleagues at the Oldham care home to spend some time out in the garden with the Residents.

Staff prepared plenty of tasty food ready to go on the BBQ including sausages and burgers with fried onions. There was also caramelised onion chutney, infused rice and plenty of fresh salad. Other hot and cold food was available to; there was something for everyone.

There was dandelion and burdock, American cream soda and other tasty drinks to wash the food down with. The perfect refreshments on a hot day too!

After the food and a rest, some socially distanced garden games were played, followed by some karaoke too. Resident Roy stole the show with some classic crooners and gags!

Wellbeing coordinator John Fullen said “It was good to see that in uncertain time we can still have sensible fun, whilst still following guidelines. There was a great choice of refreshments and activities, along with staff cooperation and attention to detail which made this day great fun!”
