Oxfordshire care home hosts MacMillan coffee morningEvery year at Thamesfield care home, Henley-on-Thames, Colleagues and Residents hold a MacMillan Coffee morning to help support such an important cause.

This year, due to the pandemic, it was held without visitors from the local community and Residents’ Relatives; however, this didn’t take away from the fun time had by all and the afternoon of eating some delicious cakes!

The home held a fun socially distanced afternoon with games including ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ and ‘guess how many sprinkles were on Colin the Caterpillar cake’. The guesses for the number of sprinkles were varied and in the end the prize of chocolates was won by Mrs. Earl whose guess was 500 out (gosh help whoever had to count the sprinkles!)

Colleagues also held a fun quiz and served teas, coffees and some delicious cakes which were made by Chefs, Adrian and Dan.

Lina Nela, Home Manager, commented, “Although it was a much quieter occasion the home managed to raise a fantastic £128.00. Amazing well done to everyone”.
