Resident receives special gift at Lancashire care homeFor Marjorie Markland, Friday was just like Christmas morning when she received a large bag of clothes, make up and new shoes to where she resides in Bankhouse care home, on Shard road in Poulton-le-Fylde.

Marjorie has a garden visit every week with her son. During their last catch up, Marjorie asked if Ann, her daughter-in-law, would be able purchase some items for her. Ann rang her on the mobile later that day and Marjorie completed a little retail therapy with Ann over the phone.

On Friday a large bag arrived for Marjorie from her family and, after it had been carefully sanitised, Care Assistant Abbi Strachan took it to Marjorie`s room.

Marjorie was filled with delight at the contents of the bag and asked Abbi to model some of her new clothes. Abbi helped put her make up away and they had a great time together.

Marjorie commented, “It’s like Christmas! I can’t believe how well Ann has done, she has good taste”

Janet Barnes who is the care Home Manager remarked, “It was lovely to see Marjorie`s big smile. We take for granted the little things in life that make such a difference to our Residents.”
