Salford care home grateful for local donationAt HC-One’s residential, nursing and residential memory care home, Pendleton Court, in Manchester, a kind donation of a retro record player and records has made everyone smile!

Friends from ‘Dancing with Dementia’ donated a fab retro record player for the Residents at Pendleton court. They have supported Pendleton throughout the pandemic and stayed connected through cards and gifts to raise the Residents spirits and everyone is very grateful.

One Resident said, “Wow, these are amazing, I feel so nostalgic.”

Everyone enjoyed looking at the player and chatting about their favourite singers. They thought the record player was really smart and were very pleased to find out it had been generously donated.

Sandra Nixon, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Having this portable record player, the ladies and gents who are unable to get out will be able to enjoy a bit of nostalgia in their rooms. There’s nothing like listening to the record with all the little scratches, brings back so many memories.”

“This is a brilliant resource, the old records are great as the Residents can see the album cover, it takes them back in time.”
