Each month at Victoria Manor care home, in the West Midlands, Colleagues hold an award celebration.
They have 6 to 12 awards, where Colleagues can vote, on either a fellow Colleague or Resident for each award. This has been a great way of everyone celebrating each other; their hard work, support and care throughout the last year. Everyone has enjoyed this so much that the home has carried it on to this year.
The awards range from the ‘Kind Person’, ‘Best Team Worker’ and ‘Best smile’, to the funnier subjects of ‘The Most Moaners’. It has all been for a laugh and to get a fun spirt into the home at these difficult times.
Home Manager, Tina Booton, remarked, “We have an award day where people who have won, wear a super hero cloak and win a trophy and certificate. We also have started having best employee of the month, again voted by the staff team.”
This month Mary McGregor (pictured), who lives at Victoria Manor, was thrilled with her awards for ‘The Biggest Heart’, ‘Best Talent’ and ‘The Nicest Smile’.
Residents love feeling part of the team, one commented, “I enjoy this time of the month to see who have won what.”
Another Resident added, “I cannot believe I have won these awards, wish my Mum and Dad were here to see this.”
Tina added, “It is great to see the fun and pleasure it beings to the team and now the Residents. Great to see them all smile at these very challenging times.”
