VE Day celebrations for Humberston ResidentsResidential and nursing care home, Clarendon Hall, was fully decorated today with flags and photos as Residents celebrated VE day in style.

The afternoon began with a barbecue and continued with a sing-along, pin the propeller on the plane and obligatory flag waving to the music.

A surprise award was also presented by Antony Hall to Wellbeing Coordinator Hayley Sandison who has now been at the home for 20 years! Hayley commented, “It has been a pleasure working here and we aren't just a work place, but a family too.”

The afternoon came to a beautiful conclusion with afternoon tea and homemade cakes, lovingly prepared by chef Julie.

1940s favourite songs rang out across the lounge as the Residents sang along to classics such as "Pack up your troubles," "Long way to Tipperary," and "Run, rabbit run!"

Everyone enjoyed singing along to the old songs and seeing Hayley receive her award.

Ann, who is a Resident, remarked, "What a fun afternoon, I wish we could do this every week!"

"We're all so proud of everything Hayley does, she's a real asset to the team" commented Stephanie, from the admin team.
