Worsley Lodge Resident marks 65 years marriedAt HC-One’s Manchester residential care home, Worsley Lodge, one Resident was celebrating an astonishing 65 years married to her husband.

Wellbeing Colleagues called in to see Resident Hilda, as they do all the time to do regular one-to0one chats, and she told staff that it was her 65th wedding Anniversary the next day.

Hilda’s husband Reter lives in a rehabilitation home so Colleagues ask if she would like to contact him to arrange a special anniversary phone call. Hilda's face lit up and she said that would be absolutely lovely, and would make her very happy.

On the day of the anniversary, Colleagues went in with handmade cards by fellow Residents and Colleagues and they even had a cake made for her (see pictured).

But the big surprise was when her husband Peter called her up and wished her a ‘Happy Anniversary’. They chatted for a while and it was so lovely to see the big smile on Hilda’s face.

She commented, “What a lovely thought and to go above and beyond to make this day so special for me and Peter!”

Anne Bannon, Care Home Manager “This was so lovely to be able to make it a great day for Hilda and Peter on their special 65th anniversary”
