Hartford Court Care Home Celebrates Centenarian Resident This Mother’s DayHartford Court Care Home in Cramlington, Northumberland, is celebrating a very special Mother’s Day with one of its most remarkable residents, Ida McBean, who recently turned 100 years old.

Ida, a devoted mother and grandmother, married at just 21 and has since built a large and loving family. She is the proud mother of five children – four sons and a daughter – as well as grandmother to twelve, great-grandmother to seventeen, and even a great-great-grandmother to two.

Reflecting on her family, Ida said, “The nice thing about having grandchildren and great-grandchildren is that you spoil them and then hand them back, but I never wanted to hand them back.” She adds heartfelt advice for younger generations: “Enjoy life, be sensible, and all get on together – we all got on together, children and grandchildren. Children and grandchildren keep you young.”

Ida’s family is spread across the country, but she treasures every moment spent with them. Her warmth, wisdom, and sense of humour have made her an inspiration to both residents and staff at Hartford Court Care Home.

This Mother’s Day, Hartford Court Care Home is proud to celebrate Ida and all the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who bring love, laughter, and strength to their families every day.
