
HC-One’s Ash Tree House Care Home, in Hindley, Wigan, is preparing to welcome in visitors and guests from their local community to participate in this year’s Care Home Open Week celebrations from Monday, June 16 until Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Ash Tree House Care Home will be welcoming residents, colleagues, friends, family and the wider community to enjoy a week of music, laughter, and connection. Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities.
The week will offer care homes the opportunity to showcase their range of services, provide tours of their facilities, and highlight the activities that are offered to residents. The event also seeks to connect the homes with their neighbours, highlighting the communal support that the home can provide.
HC-One’s chosen theme for this year’s Care Home Open Week is ‘The Big Summer Weekender’ emulating the nostalgic feel of British summer holidays with a variety of fun-filled activities culminating in an end-of-week celebration at the home.
Throughout the week, residents, colleagues, families, and friends are set to enjoy a variety of fun-filled activities culminating in an end-of-week celebration at the home. The home and members of the local community will be coming together to celebrate summertime memories past and present and hosted a fabulous Summer Weekender event.
The week kicks off on Monday, June 16 at 2pm with a lively performance by singer Jimmy Allen, setting the tone for a week of joy. On Tuesday, June 17 at 2pm, the talented Tenor Ladies, a dynamic female group, will take the stage with their captivating harmonies.
The entertainment continues Thursday, June 19 at 2pm with the soulful sounds of female vocalist Annalise. On Friday, June 20 at 2pm, the care home’s beloved Friday Party will feature singer Bradley Fox, promising a festive atmosphere for all.
The week culminates in a highlight event on Saturday, June 21 at 2pm with the Summer Fayre in the care home’s garden. Singer Joe Maddison will perform, accompanied by a variety of attractions including a tombola, bottle stall, independent stalls, a cake stall, and more, ensuring fun for all ages.
