A condolence book was started at
Ash Court care home, in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, when Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II sadly passed away. At the end of national mourning, Residents and Colleagues at the 42-bed residential and residential dementia care home sent messages of condolence to His Royal Highness King Charles III, and this month they were delighted to receive an acknowledgement card back.
The home received a card from the King which thanked everyone for the messages that had been sent by Ash Court.
Residents were very excited to have received the correspondence from Buckingham Palace and passed it around, admiring the words and image on the card. It read:
“It was so very kind of you to send me such a wonderfully generous message following the death of my beloved mother. Your most thoughtful words are enormously comforting, I cannot tell you how deeply they are appreciated at this time of immense sorrow.”
Emma Leigh, Care Home Manager, remarked, “We sent the messages of condolence, never expecting a response. We feel honoured to receive this. It is a very proud moment for Ash Court. We are going to frame the letter and card and place in the main communal lounge for all to enjoy.”
