Ashton-in-Makerfield care home Residents go to garden centreResidents at HC-One’s Ashton View residential memory care, nursing and nursing memory care home, in Wigan, enjoyed a trip to the local garden centre.

Today, Wellbeing Coordinators Stacey Sharples and Ann-Marie Roberts took Residents Veronica and Kathleen over to the local nurseries, which is a hidden gem in the local area.

The nurseries has a garden centre at one side of the premises, but on the other side is a walk through ‘Memory Lane’ with small figure houses built, mannequins dressed in war time clothing with soldiers uniforms and there was a selection of old posters and items. Kathleen and Veronica had a chat about some of the appliances shown that their mothers once used.

Veronica commented, “I always drove passed here with my husband and children but never actually visited the centre.”

The group also visited the local mini chapel and wrote a prayer for all the lives lost in the pandemic and wished for a future of good health for all.

Stacey and Ann-Marie commented, “We sat down and chatted to both Veronica and Kathleen about the day and they both thoroughly enjoyed the visit.”
