Bradford care home Residents make new furry friend as Pet Therapy visits homeResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s Knowles Court in Bradford were recently visited by a lovely new furry friend, to help Residents experience some pet therapy.

Pet Therapy was welcomed by all the Residents and Staff on Ryecroft community unit. The very lovely and well-behaved Husky, who belongs to a Nursing Assistant, Keeley, was a lovely surprise.

Pets can help to prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness but also provide that important motivation to complete daily activities. The health benefits that this can amount to for an elderly person are quite striking.

Home Manager at Knowles Court, Sam Whinray said: “Our Keeley wanted to do something special for the Residents, and pet therapy was welcomed by all.”
