Brinnington Hall Care Home Keeps Residents Active with Weekly Armchair Exercise SessionsHC-One’s Brinnington Hall Care Home in Stockport, Manchester, is helping residents stay active, engaged, and healthy with its weekly armchair exercise sessions, held every Monday across all floors of the home.

From 10.30am to 12pm, residents take part in gentle, yet effective exercises designed to improve mobility, strength, and circulation. Each floor holds its own session, led by Tamara Higgs, Activities Co-Ordinator at the home, who uses specially curated videos to guide participants through movements of the arms and legs at a pace suited to their abilities.

The sessions are carefully tailored to ensure everyone can take part, whether they are seated or require additional support. Additional benefits of the sessions include improved mobility and flexibility; enhanced circulation and muscle strength; boosted mood and mental wellbeing; social engagement; and cognitive stimulation for residents.
