Celebrating Burns Night at Lancashire care homeBurns Night was celebrated to the full at Dove Court care home, in Burnley, as Residents had a range of activities to take part in, including sampling traditional Scottish delicacies as well as showing their creative flair with some paper-based activities.

Colleagues Cath Marks and Stephanie Tillotson organised an afternoon of whiskey and shortbread tasting, while traditional Scottish music played in the background. There was also an activity whereby Residents could get creative and make a Scottish flag made from paper.

John McEwan, Maria Garcia, Myra Pickup, Anne Conner and Sheila Tidswell (all pictured), who live at the 120-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the special event.

Everyone especially liked tasting the beautiful Scottish whiskey. One of the Residents said, “What a lovely afternoon. I really enjoyed myself.”

Stephanie Tillotson, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “What a fantastic time we had celebrating Burns Night. Biscuits and a tipple of whiskey! Residents had a great time.”
