Residents at
St Peters Court, residential and residential dementia care home in Redcar, have been getting into the Christmas spirit throughout the whole of December.
Throughout December, local children from the primary schools have been along to the care home to perform a choir service for the Residents.
The children had the most beautiful voices, and all the Residents loved the singing. Both Residents and Colleagues enjoyed singing along with all the children and doing a bit of chair dancing!
One Resident, said, “All the choirs sang beautifully. Thank you for coming to sing for us it was amazing.”
On Christmas Eve, Mr Elf paid a visit to see all the Residents and Colleagues. Mr Elf came and met every Resident, and everyone was so pleased to see him.
He had his photo taken with many of the Residents. There were a lot of smiling faces and laughing. Everyone thought he was very tall for an elf, and there were lots of comments about his very large feet!
He also kept knocking the lights with his hat! He had to rush off as he still had some presents to make for Santa Clause.
Additionally on Christmas Eve, Sarah Paterson a Harpist from the local community came along to the care home to perform.
The Residents were thrilled, and they loved listening to the beautiful music. Everyone was singing along to the Christmas songs, and they loved Sarah so much they asked if she could come back the next day for another performance.
Whilst listening to the music they enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and an After Eight chocolate. It was very relaxing, and the Residents said, “The performance was absolutely gorgeous!”
Jamie Stephenson, Care Home Manager, commented, “The Residents have really enjoyed all the Christmas performances and meeting Mr Elf. We are all ready for Santa coming to visit on Christmas Day.”
