Coronation party at Harnham Croft care homeResidents, Relatives and Colleagues at Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, have enjoyed a fun-filled day celebrating the Coronation of King Charles on Saturday 6th May.

The Coronation was shown on two television screens in the communal lounge at the 38-bed residential and nursing care home. After everyone enjoyed watching the ceremony, Residents and Colleagues gathered around the tables, which had been set up in the lounge for an indoor street party (which wasn’t able to take place outdoors due to the typical British weather!)

To mark such a special occasion, Richard and Debbie from the home’s kitchen team prepared a delicious buffet, with a variety of food and drinks, including traditional trifle for pudding, which was a big hit!

Resident Mary said, “The trifle was amazing, thank you Richard, I will definitely be asking you to make it more often.”

To end the lovely day, Colleagues organised for local singer Emily from ‘Mini Concerts’ to perform ‘D-Day Dollies’ for Residents; old time war songs, which many Residents were singing and dancing along to.

Betty, who lives at Harnham Croft, commented, “Thank you very much to all the staff for a wonderful day. What a lovely way to celebrate King Charles’ Coronation.”

Jenna, Wellbeing Coordinator at Harnham Croft, said, “Today has been a wonderful day had by all. Definitely one to remember, what a lovely way to celebrate such an important occasion as the King’s Coronation.”

Wendy, Care Assistant, added, “What a very enjoyable day had by all. The home was decorated and a lovely spread of home. Very remarkable for the Residents. Everyone had a lovely day.”
