To celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Residents at
Brompton House residential and nursing care home, took part in a very special event conducted in the local Lifford Hall, which is situated in the beautiful Cotswold village of Broadway.
The event involved a cream tea served in China floral mugs, followed by a movie about the Queen's 1952 coronation. It was a beautiful, warm and sunny day which made the journey very pleasant.
When Residents John, Barbara, Irene, Evelyn and Michael, and Colleagues Tessa and Karina got to the hall, it was filled with local village Residents, and a lovely table was set up especially for Brompton House. People came over to greet Residents and have a chat.
Everyone involved absolutely loved the cream tea and friendly atmosphere, with lots of chatting and laughter. They also enjoyed the movie which brought a lot of memories of the Queen’s tenure. Residents said that they really enjoyed the event and would like to participate in more socialising events in the future.
All of the residents enjoyed the day out and meeting new people and they remembered and discussed the event for many days after and hoped to do it again.
Jinu Thomas, Care Home Manager, commented, “Everyone enjoyed in with the songs and there was a real party atmosphere in the air. It was really lovely to get the chance to celebrate after such a difficult time, due to the pandemic, and seeing everyone so happy was just brilliant.”
