Family fun day at Aston HouseHC-One’s Aston House care home recently opened its doors to welcome the local community as they held a family fun day.

Residents, Relatives and neighbours enjoyed the day as they were entertained by an Elvis impersonator, who sang various songs which were much loved by all. Everyone enjoyed a sing along as they danced to the music. An ice-cream van was also on hand to keep everybody cool from the heat of the summer sunshine, alongside a buffet of party food and refreshments for all to enjoy.

Residents especially enjoyed the day as they danced away the afternoon to the songs of Elvis and met new people as the community visited.

Two neigbours in particular, were pleased to have been invited to the event. David and Karen are a local couple who married in 1976, and shortly after, Karen was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and therefore has been unable to visit many places over recent years. The couple were so pleased to have been able to attend the fun day at Aston House as they were happy to meet new people and visit new places.

Karen was especially happy to have seen the Elvis impersonator, as she was able to receive a beautiful rose from the performer.

Seema Jose, Home Manager, commented: “I am so grateful to work in such a supportive community. People are so friendly and supportive of one another, and it is even better when we can share our celebrations with our wonderful neighbours.”
