February news from Dukinfield care homeFebruary was a busy month at The Beeches care home, in Dukinfield, Tameside with lots of birthdays, celebrations and activities.

The home marked Valentine’s Day in style with a party and entertainment from local singer, Samantha Jones. Colleagues and Residents had a lovely time celebrating love while they enjoyed a variety of delicious treats from the buffet and a selection of drinks too.

Two Residents also celebrated their birthdays this month, Barbara and Dorothy (pictured left) enjoyed an afternoon tea, food, family and lots of presents.  Dorothy, who is a fairly new Resident, said, “It’s been lovely here. I am new and we have done so much and thank you for doing my birthday it was a good day.”

One of the most favourite days of the year at the 32-bed residential care home is Pancake Day. Colleagues took Audrey for a trip to the local supermarket to buy the supplies for the pancakes (pictured centre top), she was happy to buy some peanut butter for her pancakes.

Residents then enjoyed pancakes with various toppings. Everyone loves taking part and deciding what to have from an array of different toppings from fruit to chocolate and so much more. Rhona, who lives at The Beeches, said, “I always enjoy Pancake Day, it’s my favourite.”

Throughout the month the home has also hosted their regular church service, bingo Fridays, music quizzes and many other day to day activities.

Sade Smith, who is the home’s Wellbeing Coordinator and organises these fantastic events and activities, remarked, “What a busy month here, we have had some good fun, and everyone has really enjoyed themselves.”
