Horden Home Manager highly commended in The Care Home Registered Manager Award Category at the NorthMarie Shillaw, Home Manager at HC-One’s Jack Dormand Care Home in Horden, Peterlee, a 43-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, was ‘Highly Commended’ in The Care Home Registered Manager Award Category at the North East Region of the Great British Care Awards 2022.

The awards ceremony took place at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, in Newcastle on Thursday 10th November. The awards recognise excellence across the sector and pay tribute to people who have demonstrated outstanding talents in their field of work.

Marie has worked in the social care sector for 30 years which is a testament to her boundless passion and dedication to her Residents. She embodies everything that a social care professional should be and has achieved so much in her role as Home Manager at Jack Dormand. She achieved the first ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating across all HC-One homes.
