Making a Residents wishes come true at Yarm care homeAudrey, a Resident who lives at Highfield, residential dementia care home in Yarm, had one wish, which the care homes Activities Coordinator helped come true.

On the 21st of March, Audrey one of the Residents living at Highfield expressed her wish to Jess, the Activities Coordinator, that she wanted to go back to her home where she used to live.

Audrey loved the house in which she previously lived and wanted to make sure everything at the home was still ok!

Jess arranged for the minibus to take Audrey on a trip to visit her home and when they turned up at her old street, Audrey’s face lit up!

When Audrey was younger she worked just along the road at Queen Parks Medical which was still open just around the corner.

Audrey walked around her street like a celebrity!

Both Jess and Audrey finished off their days out with some lovely fish and chips by the seaside.
Audrey had the best day and couldn’t thank Jess enough for all she had done for her.

Jess, Activities Coordinator, remarked, “Today has really touched me just to see Audrey’s face light up was magical.”
