Somerset Residents at residential and nursing care home, The Glen, have been making bird houses today.
Residents have been making their own individual bird boxes which will be attached to the trees around the grounds at the home. Everyone can then check their own boxes on a weekly basis to make sure they are filled with seeds etc.
Bill, Glenis, Jean, Christopher, Arthur and Audrey, who all live at the Glen, have commented on how they like the sense of responsibility and they are looking forward to watching over them.
Terri-Ann Weatherall, Care Home Manager, said, “Residents have enjoyed making the bird boxes and that they are each responsible for looking after their own. The activity has gone down very well so far.”
