New arrival and mini concert at Harnham CroftAnother busy month has been well underway at Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, including an end of summer party, and welcoming a new baby to the team!

The end of summer was celebrated on Monday 5th September at the 38-bed residential and nursing care home, with an entertainment afternoon. Rob and Millie, from ‘Mini Concerts’ took the Residents on a virtual trip around the world with their show titled, ‘Summer Holiday – The Cruise Show’.

Residents, including Gill, Linda, Eileen, Barbara, Charles, Sandy, Lynn, Eric and Robert, went on a cruise all around the world, singing and dancing to iconic tunes, before finishing off back in England. Residents particularly enjoyed the rendition of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion.

Gill, who lives at Harnham Croft, said, “It was a lovely show, brought back very many happy memories from when I used to go dancing. Millie has a beautiful singing voice.”

Lynn added, “They both sung all the songs I knew so I could join in. They didn’t only sing, they danced too, which was lovely to watch. It was such a wonderful show. I can’t wait to see them again.”

Jim Bowie, Home Manager at Harnham Croft, added, “A wonderful afternoon had by all, seeing all the Residents getting involved singing and dancing, we will definitely be seeing them again.”

The home saw even more celebrations this September, as Colleague Michelle welcomed the arrival of Baby Archie, and she visited the care home. Everyone was so pleased to hear the news, Residents and Colleagues alike, following a surprise baby shower which was thrown at Harnham Croft in the summer.

Wellbeing Coordinator Jenna said, “All the Residents enjoyed being able to see Michelle again.”

Resident Mary joked, “Michelle is you ever need a babysitter, you know where I am.”
