Newton Heath Chef shortlisted as a finalist in the Care Catering Award Category at the Public SectorBen Smith, Chef at HC-One’s Averill House care home in Newton Heath, Manchester has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Care Catering Award Category at the Public Sector Catering Awards 2024.

The Public Sector Catering Awards aim to recognise outstanding achievement among individuals, teams, companies and organisations operating within a public sector environment. The Care Catering Award category involves the delivery of resident mealtimes in a care setting, which has significantly improved catering services for clients and residents.

Ben has been recognised by the judges for the high standard of dining on offer at Averill House Care Home and the presentation of meals that are produced, with residents often commenting on how enriched their experiences are at mealtimes. Averill House also provides catering for an adjacent care home, HC-One’s Brookdale View, which has received extremely positive comments too. Ben ensures meals are presented highly decoratively, and that the mealtime experiences are those to savour.

The awards ceremony. will take place at the Hilton London Metropole on Thursday 4th April, where the winners will be announced.
