Pet Therapy volunteers brighten up Residents dayHC-One’s Quayside, nursing and nursing memory care home, in Glasgow have had a special visitor at the home.

After a lengthy absence, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Residents and staff at Quayside were delighted to welcome back, Therapet volunteer Catriona and her dog Benji.

Both had been regular visitors to Quayside, prior to lockdown and couldn’t wait to return to see the Residents again.

Catriona, commented, “It’s great to be back. When we go out for a walk, Benji tries to walk towards the Quayside as he really enjoys meeting people and knows that Residents will share biscuits with him. It is like we have never been away.”

One Resident, said, “Aww what a lovely dog, we always had a dog when I was growing up.”

Care Home Manager, Shaun Docherty, added, “We have been so lucky at Quayside to maintain our community links throughout lockdown and it’s great to welcome Catriona and Benji back.”
