James Senior, Housekeeper, at HC-One’s
Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, a 71-bed residential, nursing and residential dementia care home, has been shortlisted for The Ancillary Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the York and Humber region.
The nomination for the award is in recognition of his hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion James shows every day to ensure the people he supports receive the best quality care.
James started working at HC-One 12 years ago, he has worked in a variety of roles including care and as a Senior Carer on nights. In James current role, as Housekeeper, he demonstrates outstanding dedication to his work all the time. He ensures that all the rooms are spotless when he is on shift and will go that extra mile for ensuring that all his task are completed in appropriate manner. He also supports staff by working in different roles without hesitation if required.
Home Manager, Allison Gill, who nominated James for the award, said:
“James keeps Priory Gardens safe, tidy and clean. Always ensuring Residents bedrooms are cleaned to their own personal preferences, James creates a home from home environment for Residents to live in. He demonstrates outstanding dedication to his work all the time”
The Great British Care Awards consist of 21 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for the York and Humber region takes place on Friday 11th November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the York and Humber regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.
In total nine HC-One Colleagues have been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards in the York and Humber region.
