Preparing for Care Home Open Week at The WestburyWiltshire’s The Westbury care home, which offers residential and nursing care, will be the setting for an open day on 1st July for Care Home Open Week, and Colleagues have been preparing for the big day.

Care Home Open Week is a little different this year with the activities across the nation taking part over a week, as opposed to just one day as with previous years. It is hosted by Championing Social Care, a volunteer-led group with the aim of ensuring public understanding, appreciation, and respect for social care.

Colleagues at The Westbury are arranging to have a guest from the local community to visit the Residents in the morning, then on the afternoon they are arranging to have some entertainers to come to the home and put on a show for Residents.

Relatives, family and friends will also be invited to the event for a delicious afternoon tea, prepared by the home’s kitchen team.

Flyers and invitations have been filled out ready to hand to local businesses and the local community. The Westbury hope to see you there!

Theresa Chacko, Care Home Manager, commented, “We are very excited for the plans for the open day, and hope everyone involved has a brilliant time!”
