HC-One colleagues at
Primrose House care home, in Haslington, Crewe have been shortlisted as finalists for two awards by the judging panel at the National Care Awards 2023.
Amal Baby Mohan, who is a Care Assistant at Primrose House Care Home, is a finalist in the Care Newcomer of the Year Award Category and Primrose House is a finalist in The Dignity & Respect Care Home of the Year Award Category.
The National Care Awards are returning for the 25th year as they celebrate their silver anniversary and are organised by leading social care publication Caring Times Magazine. The awards celebrate the very best in the long-term care sector and highlight excellence, rewarding those individuals who work tirelessly to provide consistently outstanding care. The three finalists were carefully chosen in recognition of their hard work, kind care shown to residents, relatives and colleagues as well as the dedication and passion they show day-to-day to ensure the people they support receive the best quality care.

Primrose House Care Home displays outstanding dignity and respect. The home is rated overall as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission and had a 9.8 average user rating on Carehome.co.uk.
Ensuring a resident’s dignity at Primrose House is of paramount importance. Residents are supported so they feel their identity or values are not being respected. Colleagues allow residents to express their values so they can keep their dignity and remain independent, providing care that supports the self-respect of the person, recognising their capacities and ambitions and doing nothing to undermine it, dignity is always at the heart of Primrose House and every high-quality personal care plan.
The care plans are all tailored to the exact needs of the individual, which provides carers with the opportunity to learn each resident’s capabilities, what they like and dislike and how they like to be treated. This method ensures that self-respect is at the forefront of each resident’s care and supports the overall commitment of Primrose House to treat everyone with dignity and respect.

Amal moved to the UK in December 2022 from India and started working at Primrose House as a Care Assistant in January 2023.
Amal exemplifies kind care and is an asset to the home. Amal has a positive attitude and always comes to work every day with a huge smile on his face. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and he always goes above and beyond whilst at work. Amal will often stay behind and continue with additional duties and even offers to support the home on his days off. His work is of an extremely exceptional high standard, and he is a team player.
Amal has already been nominated for two HC-One Kindness in Care Awards and Colleague of the Month Awards.
Relatives are always feeding back about the high quality of care that Amal provides and his kind, approachable smiling face.
