Remembering together with Market Lavington Resident“I loved my life and would do it all over again.”

That is the statement made by Resident, Violet Lloyd, of Market Lavington residential, nursing and residential memory care home, in Devizes when collaborating with Colleagues on her ‘Remembering Together’ document, which helps Residents reminisce on good memories.

Violet grew up in Connock, Wiltshire, meeting her husband Steve at the garage where he worked in the neighbouring village of Chirton, sometime in the late 1940s. They married in 1951 and Violet loved their life together. Violet eventually became the manager of a wool shop in Devizes town centre called Olivers and worked there until she was 65. Violet loved that job and was very popular with her staff and customers due to her kind ways and consideration for others.

Violet has been with us at Market Lavington for several years and always loves chatting and engaging with staff. She will be celebrating her 95th birthday in just a couple of weeks’ time.

Riaz Ali, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “Violet has so many wonderful memories and stories to tell about her life and is the sort of person that always looks for the good in others.”

“I find it a privilege to be able to collaborate with Residents and their families on these ‘Remembering Together’ documents. I feel they are a valuable resource and can give a beautiful snapshot into the life that has been led so far by the Residents we care for.”
