Remembrance Day craft afternoon at Harnham CroftResidents at Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, Wiltshire, have enjoyed an arts and crafts afternoon making poppy wreaths ready for Remembrance Sunday and Holy Communion.

Eileen, Lynn, Gill, Linda, Barbara and Alison, who all live at the 38-bed residential and nursing care home, enjoyed using their creative minds to each make a personal poppy wreath in remembrance.

The Residents chose to hang their poppy wreaths on the wall of the home’s dining room in the shape of a cross, where Holy Communion is held, for other Residents, Relatives, friends and Colleagues to admire.

Eileen then went on to create a poppy field scene using the extra poppies from the wreaths to place on the table.

Barbara remarked, “Thank you for a lovely afternoon, it’s nice to get back to a bit of normality. Remembrance Sunday is a very emotional time for everyone, this is a brilliant way to remember those involved.”

Jim Bowie, Home Manager at Harnham Croft, commented, “Lovely afternoon had by all Residents, (I am) very proud of their artistic creations to mark this special day.”
