Resident from Douglas View care home takes a trip to local libraryOne Resident, at Douglas View care home in Hamilton, is a keen reader and was itching to get out to the local library for a new range of books.

Judith is a very keen reader and enjoys sinking her teeth into a good crime novel. Judith approached some of the Colleagues and said that she had exhausted every book in the building. This prompted the Wellbeing Team to devise a plan to accommodate her wishes.

The Wellbeing Team asked Judith is she would like to take a trip along to the local library.
Judith got chatting to the librarian and was telling them her favourite crime authors and her confidence was building every minute.

It was such a great morning, Judith renewed her membership and left with six books and is now planning her 2nd visit.

On Judith’s return she was very happy and couldn’t wait to get started on her new books. She remarked, “Thank you I had such a great morning.”

Louise Fulton, Care Home Manager, added, “Seeing Judith on her return back to the care home with her books with her thrilled expression is what its all about.”
