Residents at Pontefract care home experience virtual realityResidents at Priory Gardens care home in Pontefract, love trying out new activities and have recently tried virtual reality.

On the 1st of March at the 71-bed care home which offers residential, nursing and residential dementia care, Residents got prepared to experience virtual reality.

Anita Smith, Florence Wilson, Dorothy Bentley and Kenneth Bentley put on their virtual reality headset and were transported all over the world.

Residents really enjoyed virtual visits to the seaside, wildlife parks, visiting the polar bears in the colder regions of the world and many other animal experiences.

The Residents thought the experience was wonderful as they were transported to other part of the world whilst sitting in their comfy chairs.

Allison Gill, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was really good to see a new activity in the home and see Residents embracing new technology!”
