Following the passing of the Queen, Colleagues at HC-One’s
Richmond House care home, in Leigh, Lancashire, set up a memorial table for Residents to look at and remember her.
Photos of the Queen were displayed along with a condolence book in the reception area of the home for Residents and Colleagues to write messages and thoughts.
People at the home sat together and watched the funeral on television, celebrating and talking about the life and reign of the Queen. Many Residents shared lots of fond memories, reminiscing and sharing stories from when Residents were younger.
Residents at the 49-bed nursing care home, agreed that it was a lovely service; and that the Queen will be sadly missed.
One of the Residents said, “It’s nice to reflect of the times gone by, the service was outstanding, and everyone played their parts.”
Sonia Walshaw, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “Everyone was so pleased that they had the opportunity to watch the service live and it sparked many wonderful conversations among all involved.”
