Spring activities keep Residents at Dukinfield care home very busyIt has been a busy spring so far at the Beeches care home, in Dukinfield, Tameside, as Colleagues, Relatives and Residents have been getting together to celebrate annual events such as St Patrick’s Day and Mother’s Day, as well as many of the usual activities in the wellbeing programme, which has also included some trips out.

Online entertainer Kayley sang some well-known songs to Residents for St Patrick’s Day, as well as some good Irish singalongs which everyone loved to join in with.

For Mother’s Day, celebrations were had with all the ladies enjoying a coffee morning, with cakes, coffees and a glass of wine and Baileys. Residents shared stories about their mothers, being mums themselves, as well as aunties, as they listened to some music.

Later in the month, Residents Dorothy and Rhona enjoyed a trip out to Ashton to have a coffee and get some balloons to celebrate the home once again being voted as a ‘Top 20 Care Home in the North West’ on Carehome.co.uk.

Dorothy wanted to carry the balloon back to the bus and it was a very windy day she found it really funny! She said, “I have really enjoyed being out today, it was so nice going back to Ashton. It was just what I needed, now I feel happier “

Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It’s lovely celebrating these events with the Residents, even when things don’t go to plan we still made sure the Residents had a good time.”
