Spring news from Lancashire care homeSpring at Bankhouse care home, in Hambleton, Poulton-le-Fylde, is well underway, with lots of celebrations, achievements, hobbies and events to participate. Recently the home formed a gardening club and marked a milestone achievement for one Colleague. 

On 19th April Residents Betty Parker, Ruth Reilly, Marion Hyslop, Dorothy Copper, Gloria Geary and Kathleen Southworth enjoyed coming together to form a gardening club. The group enjoyed potting up some seeded plants ready to brighten up the lounges and bedrooms at the 52-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home.

Lynsey Parsons, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “All the Residents really enjoyed getting involved in the activity and forming the gardening club. It’s so much fun learning a new hobby and interest and we can’t wait for our flowers to bloom in time for summer!”

Following on, on 3rd May a 20 years of service award was presented to a Colleague at Bankhouse. Nursing Assistant Florentina Brannan achieved her 20 years of service award and was presented with her award and gifts by HC-One’s Managing Director, Geoff Edwards. 

Everyone congratulated Florentina on her outstanding achievement and commitment to the service.

Roz Evenett, Care Home Manager, remarked, “We are so proud to have Florentina on our team, she is a valued Colleague, here’s to the next 20 years!”
