Richmond House care home, in Leigh, Lancashire, was visited on earlier in July by Leigh’s MP James Grundy, as the home welcomed visitors and guests from the local community to the home to participate in their summer themed open day celebrations.
The 49-bed welcoming and purpose-built home, offering nursing care, which is owned by HC-One, was delighted to open its doors to celebrate the summer with an open day for Residents, Colleagues, friends, family, and the wider community.
The event included lots of entertainment, stalls with goodies and various games (which were designed by Colleagues and Residents!) and activities for everyone to get involved in. The kitchen team also provided plenty of refreshments which were enjoyed in the pleasant company of a singer and a local Morris dancing group.
One of the Residents commented, “It has been lovely seeing the Morris dancers again… they are great!”
Sonia Walshaw, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “The highlight of the day was seeing our Residents happy, with lots of different things going on we had something for everyone, and we were so pleased to raise £450 for our Residents comfort fund.”
Residents and Colleagues of the HC-One owned home enjoyed meeting MP James Grundy and chatting to him about what life is like at Richmond House – which is an integral part of the local Leigh community.
Lorraine Scholey. Home Manager, said, “It was brilliant being able to celebrate and have fun with families and friends and many said they had a lovely, fun day.”
