Julie Merritt, Home Manager at HC-One’s Falstone Manor and Falstone Court Care Homes in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear has been shortlisted for The Dementia Carer Award at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the North East region.
The nomination for the award is in recognition of her hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Julie shows every day to ensure the people she supports receive the best quality care.
As a Manager, Julie has worked tirelessly to ensure that her Residents live the best life that they possibly can and she constantly explores new ways to improve the environment at the homes, Residents’ wellbeing, and their interactions with one another.
Julie promotes and passionately implements an inclusive, can-do culture which is infectious to everyone living and working at the homes.
Area Director, Alison Hunter, who nominated Julie for the award, commented:
“I am so happy Julie has been nominated for this award. She is a fantastic Manager for both Falstone Court and Falstone Manor.”
The Great British Care Awards consist of 23 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the regional awards for the North East region takes place at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, in Newcastle on Thursday 10th November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the North East regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.
In total 20 HC-One Colleagues have been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards in the North East.
