Tameside care home enjoys music entertainmentWith coronavirus restrictions easing, the chance for entertainment in care homes has been increasing across the country and the Millbrook residential care home, in Stalybridge, have been taking full advantage.

Anthony Lye (pictured), is a very talented local singer, and today he performed for the Residents.

The weather was fantastic and he was able to set up outside for the day, with the ladies and gentlemen watching him from the lounge, including Harold, Jackie, Sheila, Olivia, Stephen, Bessy, Hilda, Mary, Joan, Florence, John and Betty.

Anthony performed a selection of songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s on an electric keyboard, with the staff serving both cold and hot beverages throughout.

Despite the heat, the Residents enjoyed singing and dancing along to the music.

A great time was had by all, with Residents commenting on how much they enjoyed listening to a performer, and mentioned how they looked forward to listening to live music again.

One of the Residents remarked, “Thank you Anthony Lye, we had a great day!”

Everybody commented on how Anthony played the keyboard and that he never stopped for a break.

Claire Jones, Care Home Manager, said, “The Residents really enjoy watching the entertainers and joining in with the music.”
