Two Manchester care homes go head-to-head in a curling competitionHC-One’s Rose Court care home and Worsley Lodge care home have come together this April to compete in an exciting game of curling, and what a great time had by all, with everyone showing a rather competitive streak!

Allison Porter, Wellbeing Coordinator and Residents from HC-One’s Rose court care home, journeyed to Worsley Lodge with some of the Residents for a ‘Curling Competition’ against rivals Angela McGinty, Wellbeing Coordinator, and the team of Residents at the 48-bed residential care home.

The group played quite a few games with groups of men vs men, women vs women and Colleagues vs Residents, and it did get a little competitive from both homes!

They called it a draw in the end and afterwards, all involved sat and had afternoon tea and a catch up together.

Everyone had a lovely time and cannot wait to play curling again soon. Residents particularly liked cheering each other’s homes and getting to know each other more.

One of the Residents remarked, “What a great day and the game is very competitive!”

Angela McGinty said, “All involved had a great time, and for those who had never played before really enjoyed it. The Residents can’t wait until we have another game.”
