Wakefield Carer shortlisted for Carer Award at the Great British Care AwardsStephanie Clarke, Carer, at HC-One’s Snapethorpe Hall care home in Lupset, Wakefield, a 62-bed residential and residential dementia care home, has been shortlisted for The Care Home Worker Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022. 

The nomination for the award is in recognition of her hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Stephanie shows every day to ensure the people she supports receive the best quality care.

Since starting eight years ago at Snapethorpe Hall, Stephanie strives to provide a positive can do attuite and wants to improve the quality of life of the Residents. Stephanie views the home, its Residents, and Colleagues as a family (not just a workplace) and strives to treat everyone as her own family. She excels in providing empathic end of life care supporting families though a very difficult time.

Home Manager, Gemma Leach, who nominated Stephanie for the award, said:
“Stephanie always puts others before herself and it is wonderful news that she is recognised for this as a finalist in the Great British Care Awards. She is a kind and caring person who strives to deliver 100% to the Residents and their families by going over and above giving them the kind care feeling.” 

The Great British Care Awards consist of 21 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for the York and Humber region takes place on Friday 11th November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the York and Humber regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.

Commenting on her nomination, Stephanie said: 
“What an absolute honour it is, to just be nominated for a Great British Care Awards, but to be a finalist is truly phenomenal. I am very much looking forward to the awards taking place at the end of November.”
